Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject ocatalyst with high activity and a long life time for the steam-reforming reaction of the hydrocarbon constituting rhodium and zirconium oxide.
CONSTITUTION: In generating carbon monoxide, hydrogen, methane and carbon dioxide efficiently by reacting the hydrocarbon with steam, the catalyst comprising rhodium and zirconium oxide is employed. Said catalyst shows high activity in the reforming reaction of the hydrocarbon due to excellent hydrocarbon activation capacity of rhodium and excellent water activation capacity of zirconium oxide. Moreover, because said catalyst has high heat stability, it has a long life time and hardly generates precipitation centering of carbon.
