Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject catalyst with high activity and a long life time for the steam-dealkylation reaction of the alkylbenzene constituting rhodium and zirconium oxide.
CONSTITUTION: In efficiently removing an alkyl group of the alkylbenzene such as toluene or xylene as hydrogen and carbon monoxide, the catalyst comprising rhodium and zirconium oxide is used. This catalyst is of high activity due to excellent alkylbenzene activation capacity or rhodium and excellent water activation activity of zirconium oxide as well as having good heat stability and a long life time and, moreover, hardly generates precipitation centering of carbon.
