Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit the demagnetization of a magnet with high coercive force by feeding a coil high current pulses adjusted the level in accordance with the residual magnetism of a magnet wherein the magnet arranged at the center of the coil is demagnetized. CONSTITUTION:A high-voltage D.C. power source section 1 is permitted voltage adjustment in accordance with the characteristics of a demagnetized substance. The charging direction of a capacitor 3 is inverted by changing the connection of the capacitor 3 and the power source 1 by switching a change-over switch 2. Meanwhile, a magnet 9 with high coercive force such as an SmCo5 magnet or the like is placed at the center of an air core coil 6 wound hundreds of winding. And direct current from the power source 1 is supplied to the capacitor 3 through the switch 2 to feed the coil 6 high-voltage pulses by turning off one of the thyristors 4a, 4b after charging the capacitor 3. Next, the output in the power source 1 is reduced in the same way to feed the pulses to the coil 6 in a reverse poloarity and the magnet 9 is demagnetized.
