Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a whole efficiency of a ship's prime mover by heating a low boiling point medium by the use of a waste heat of the ship's prime mover as a heat source and supplying the resultant high pressure steam for a turbine in a closed circuit to produce an additional power.
CONSTITUTION: Using a waste heat generated by a ship's prime mover as a heat source, a low boiling point medium is heated and the resultant high pressure steam is supplied for a turbine in a closed circuit to generate an additional power. Before recovered, the low boiling point medium is liquefied at a temperature and a steam pressure respectively a little lower than those of its critical point, by which a heat energy wasted out of a system may be reduced. As a liquefier for the low boiling point medium can be provided in a much smaller size than that of a capacitor of a low pressure steam turbine, the liquefier may be mounted on medium- or small-size ships.
