Abstract

PURPOSE: To use a generator as a synchronous phase modifier by mounting a clutch for increasing speed between a turbine and the generator.
CONSTITUTION: The clutch 7 for increasing speed is set up among both a high pressure turbine 1 and a low pressure turbine 4 and the generator 2, the steam turbine is started under this condition, and the speed of the generator 2 is increased up to rated speed, and united to a power system. After the generator is united, the steam turbine is removed while the clutch 7 for increasing speed is disengaged, and a steam turbine shaft and a generator shaft are detached. Accordingly, only the generator functions as the synchronous phase modifier under a condition that the generator is united to the system.
