Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid the explosion and the corrosion and at the same time increase the detecting accuracy, by constituting a liquid amount detector in such way that part of the optical fiber connecting the light source and the display panel is led into the container and then eliminating the cladding at the introduction part of the liquid amount measuring range to expose the core. CONSTITUTION:The cladding of part of optical fiber 2 is eliminated, and fiber 2 is provided into the container directly or with the core part wound spirally around core support component 7. In case the exposed area of the core is in liquid 6 in the container, the light led to the optical fiber from the light source receives no full reflection within the core in the liquid but is dispersed into liquid 6. And no light is transmitted to the display panel at the other end of optical core 2. When the liquid surface lowers down with the core part exposed into the air, the light is transmitted to the display panel to show the residual liquid amount. As a result, the explosion and the corrosion can be avoided, at the same time increasing the detecting accuracy.
