Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a system of energy saving making effective use of waste heat by using a filter layer precoated with carbon fibers as a filter element for removing impurities in the condensate of a steam generating system.
CONSTITUTION: In the steam generating system for petrochemical plants, power generating plants, etc., the condensate produced after use is treated with an impurity removing device X having a filter layer precoated with carbon fiber pieces, whereby the impurities in the condensate are removed. Since this filter element is adaptable to high-temperature water as well, it is possible to beforehand heat high- purity water for replenishment with a heating medium and mix the same with the condensate. Hence, the steam generating system that permits effective utilization of waste heat energy is provided.
