Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the possibility of radioactive contamination of in-plant boiler system by supplying steam generated with the evaporator to the in-plant heating steam system.
CONSTITUTION: During the normal operation of atomic power plant, steam supplied from the purge pipe 12 from main turbine 11 is led to the heating coil of evaporator 15 to heat water within the evaporator 15 obtaining in-plant heating steam. Said in-plant steam is supplied to the in-plant equipment 3. Since steam may not be available from the purge pipe 12 during shutdown of atomic power plant, steam available from the in-plant boiler 1 is led into other coil within the evaporator 15 to obtain in-plant heating steam. In the case of containing radioactivity within the in-plant equipment 3, althought the heating steam system may be contaminated by radioactivity caused by failure of heater, the in-plant boiler system may not be contaminated.
