Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain parts for geothermal steam turbine which is improved in its yield strength, notch brittleness, corrosion resistance, and corrosion fatigue strength under the atmosphere of geothermal steam by designating the amounts of C, Si, Mn, Cr, and Nb or Ta present in a steel composition.
CONSTITUTION: A turbine part contains 0.05W0.2wt% C, 0.5wt% or less Si, 1.0wt% or less Mn, 10.0W14.0wt% Cr, 0.01W0.2wt% Nb or Ta or both, and Fe and impurities, together with, as needed, 0.01W0.1wt% N component. The turbine part is manufactured by a procedure in which given composition of alloying elements are melted, cast, heated, machined, and then subjected to a given heat treatment. The use of the alloy part as parts for the blade, shround, etc., of geothermal steam turbine enables to design a geothermal steam turbine having excellent safety.
