Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the coupling strength of both a ceramic material and a metal material by welding a coupling piston consisting of the ceramic material and the metal material through a metal fitting. CONSTITUTION:A piston is formed by a main body section 1 being composed of a metal material and a head section 2 being made of a ceramic material while the piston is positioned by a projection section 5 built up at a central section of the main body section 1 and a concave section 4 of the head section 2. A metal fitting 3 is fitted on a circumferential surface of the head section 2. The metal fitting 3 is bent at upper and lower ends, consists of a cylinder body section 3a, an upper flange 3b and a lower flange 3c, and strongly holds the head section 2. A lower section of the cylinder body section 3a and an upper section of the main body section 1 are welded as shown in a welding section 3d.
