Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the workability of the starting of an engine by a mechanism wherein a passage for pressure reduction with a decompression valve is mounted, and the decompression valve is automatically opened and closed by utilizing the pressure of exahust gas to conduct pressure reduction and its release.
CONSTITUTION: A passage 8 for pressure reduction for decompression is mounted in parallel at the combustion chamber side from an exhaust passage 5 of a cylinder 1, and both the passages 5, 8 are communicated with an exhaust passage 9. A valve chamber 11 of a decompression valve 10 is formed on way of the passage 8 for pressure reduction, and a spherical valve body 12 is installed into the valve chamber 11 so that it is opened and closed. A flapper 13 is disposed to the exhaust passage 5 such that it is opened and closed in a rotatable shape to a shaft 14, and the valve body 11 of the decompression valve 10 is interlocked with an interlocking arm 15 unified with the flapper 13 through a rod 16 in order that it is closed when the flapper 13 is opened only by a fixed quantity. When starting, since the pressure of exhaust gas is low, the decompression valve 10 is not closed, the passage 8 is communicated, and an engine is easily started. When the pressure of exhaust gas is high, the flapper 13 is opened, the rod 16 is moved, and the valve 10 is closed.
