Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a real size type color optical read element at low cost, by arraying a lot of photodetectors on the substrate, dividing the respective photodetectors into three, and providing green, blue and red filters on the surface of the partial photodetecting parts.
CONSTITUTION: A lot of thin film photodetectors 2 having the photoconductivity corresponding to one picture element are arrayed on the substrate 1, and these detectors 2 are divided into three partial photodetecting parts 2a, 2b, 2c, respectively. As for these partial photodetecting parts, the fitters which selectively transmit a green light beam, a blue light beam and a red light beam are provided on the photodetecting surface of the photodetecting part 2a, the photodetecting surface of the photodetecting part 2b, and the photodetecting surface of the photodetecting part 2c. The photodetecting parts 2aW2c of the photodetectors which have been constituted in this way are made to have the characteristic of a photodiode, and after that, when voltage is applied to the photodetectors in the reverse bias direction, the respective thin film photodetecting parts are charged with electricity. When a light beam is irradiated to the photodetecting parts which have been charged with electricity, the respective photodetecting parts discharge electricity depending on the quantity of light. When they are charged again, a charging current corresponding to the amount of discharge flows, and a three color signal are output by outputting a signal by the charging current at this time.
