Abstract

PURPOSE:To compensate a leakage current of a photodetecting element, and to obtain a sufficient linearity, by making a storage variable in accordance with information related to an incident light beam. CONSTITUTION:A hotoelectric converting part 1 is constituted of a shift register 2, an MOS switch array 3, a photodetecting element array 4, a photodetecting element 5 and a photodetecting element 6. In this state, the photodetecting element array 4 and the photodetecting element 5 are photosensitive parts, and other parts are shaded by an aluminum mask. Information of a difference of outputs between the photodetecting element 5 and the photodetecting element 6 is inputted to a clock generating circuit 7 through a comparator 8, in accordance with which a start pulse for controlling a storage time is generated, and a leakage current of the photodetecting element 5 is compensated.
