Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare an immobilized enzyme having improved stability, by reacting a tannic compound with a water-insoluble and hydrophilic polymer, and adsorbing an enzyme to the resultant tannic pharmaceutical.
CONSTITUTION: A tannic compound selected from the group consisting of tannin, activated tannin, aminoalkylated tannin, carboxyalkylated tannin, hydroxyalkylated tannin, and aminoalkylated tannin or hydroxyalkylated tannin activated with an epoxy compound is subjected to the covalent bond to a water-insoluble and hydrophilic polymer having one or more functional groups selected from hydroxyl groups, amino groups, carboxyl groups and said functional groups activated in the molecule to prepare a water-insoluble tannic pharmaceutical. An enzyme is then adsorbed by the resultant pharmaceutical.
