Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a stable laser output by cooling the semiconductor laser itself by a thermo module, controlling a current in the thermomodule by a signal by which the laser output is monitored, and stabilizing a laser temperature. CONSTITUTION:An unused photo output (b) among laser lights of the semiconductor laser 1 is detected by means of a photodetector 2, and an output from a reference voltage generating circuit 5 and an output obtained by amplifying the output detected by the detector 2, by an amplifier 3 are compared in a voltage comparing circuit 4. A semiconductor laser operating circuit 6 is controlled according to the comparison result of the circuit 4 to hold the laser output constant, and the output in the operating circuit 6 is applied to an electronic refrigerator operating circuit 9. An electronic refrigerator 7 called a thermomodule which cools the laser 1 is controlled by the output from the operating circuit 9 to hold the temperature of the laser 1 within a range that the laser 1 works in stable and to obtain the stabilized laser output.
