Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the assembling work, to attempt the elevation of cooling effect and to miniaturize a current-limiting reactor by a method wherein duct insulating members are arranged in the radial directions not forming lines between the winding layers being wound around cylindrically. CONSTITUTION:An elemental conductor 5 is wound around cylindrically on the insulating members 7 to form the winding layers 6, and the plural bar type insulating spacer members 7 are inserted between the winding layers 6 extending over the whole circumference of the winding layers 6 to form the cooling ducts 8. The insulating members 7 are arranged in the radial directions not forming lines in the cooling ducts 8 from the first layer, the second layer,... to the outest layer to avoid the application of load by the radial directional stress (b) only to the neighboring outside winding layer 6. By this way, the supporting structure is simplified to facilitate the assembling, and the elevation of cooling effect is attempted and the current- limiting reactor is miniaturized.
