Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A mitomycin shown by the formula I [X is (substituted)amino, hydroxy, etc; Y is H, -COR1[R1 is H, (substituted)alkyl, (substituted)aryl, -CH2 CH2Z(Z is alkyloxycarbonyl, acyl, etc.,)]; with respect to RA and RB, RA is H and RB, is -CH2OH, etc., RA and RB form =CH2; with the proviso that when RA is H and RB is -CH2OH, Y is -CH2CH2Z, and when RA is H and RB is -CH2OSO2R2, Y is H or -CH2CH2Z].
EXAMPLE: A 1a-N-acetyl-10-decarbamoyloxy-9-dehydromitomycin C.
USE: Having antibacterial activity. An intermediate for a bactericide, detergent, other useful compounds.
PROCESS: For example, a compound shown by the formula III is subjected to dealkylation (or dearylation) and sulfon oxidation to give a compound shown by the formula IV, which is submitted to deacylation to prepare a compound shown by the formula V.
