Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Ester derivatives of antibiotic PS-7 of formula I (R is lower alkyl, triphenylmethyl).
EXAMPLE: Trimethyl ester of antibiotic PS-7.
USE: Synthetic intermediates of reactive derivatives of antibiotic PS-7, which has excellent antibacterial activity.
PREPARATION: For example, the reaction between antibiotic PS-7 of formula II or its salt and an ester-forming compound of formula III (Y is the removing atom or group on ester formation) as methanol, methyl iodide, dimethyl solufonate or a lower diazoalkane as diazomethane is effected preferably in an inert solvent as benzene or toluene, when necessary, in the presence of a reaction accelerator as trimethylamine at a temperature below 60°C, preferably of 0W40°C, much preferably 5°CW room temperature, thus forming the compound of formula I.
