Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a straight tube type heat exchanger which has a simple structure, is of small size, and has a high heat exchange efficiency equivalent to that of a spiral type one, by a method wherein the inside of a drum is partitioned into a plurality of heat exchange chambers with straight tubes and partitions, the inside of a cylindrical drum at a central part of the drum is divided into two parts, and this connects together the heat exchange chambers to each other. CONSTITUTION:Cooling water flows through tubes 2 from an inlet pipe 17 and flows out from an outlet pipe 18. In the meantime, a high temperature exhaust gas flows into a cylindrical drum 4 from an inlet pipe 11 through a connection pipe 12, and is fed into an upwardmost stage heat exchange chamber 10-1 in the direction of an arrow mark in a dotted line, and flows into a subsequent stage heat exchange chamber 10-2 through an outlet 8. As described above, the gas flows in order as shown in the arrow mark in dotted line, and flows out from an outlet 13. The high temperatures gas flows in a spiral through the heat exchange chamber at each stage, whereby an uniform heat absorption is conducted, and a high heat exchange efficiency equivalent to that of a spiral type can be obtained by a straight tube type having a simple structure.
