Abstract

PURPOSE:To record an image information by a novel recording method by a method wherein light irradiation with a low optical output is carried out to a heat mode recording material having a light absorbing layer to develop a red appeared recording portion or a reddish condition only permeating infrared rays. CONSTITUTION:To a heat mode recording material M having a recording layer 2A such as a co-vapor deposited film of Sn and SnS, a light absorbing layer 2B such as a vapor deposited film and a protective layer 3 provided on a base material 1 thereof, an optical output from a light source as a laser is irradiated in a low output. Then, the light absorbing layer 23 with a high mp is not changed to a flowing condition, but only the recording layer 2A with a low mp is melted and formed small spheres 5 become also fine to remain the light absorbing layer 2B. If white rays are irradiated thereto, the light absorbing layer 2B permeats only long wave rays and a red appeared phenomenon is created. By utilizing this phenomenon, an information from a magnetic tape 10 is treated in a signal treating circuit 9 and sent to an optical modulator 8 and, herein, the light from a laser beam source 7 is modulated and irradiated to the recording medium M to record an information.
