Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely guide the propelling body to the target position by a method wherein guiding is performed by measuring a distance and othe necessary deta by means of an approximate direction detection system and a precise direction detection system to detect the direction of a signal generating source based on the phase difference of received signals of a concentric type wave receiving array receiving untrasonic waves from an ultrasonic wave oscillating source provided at an underwater target position. CONSTITUTION:An FM ultrasonic wave signal generating source is installed at a sea red facility and an underwater propelling body is equipped with a wave receiving array 4 and is guided to the signal generating source. In an appoximate direction detection system, an ultrasonic wave is received by wave receiving device elements S1, S9 and the direction of the oscillating source is detected from the phase difference of both received wave signals by means of a FM demodulation circuit 5 and a direction detector 6, and then by a rotation moving system 7, the propelling body is squarely faced to the oscillating source and is moved toward it. A distance and a speed are measured by means of elements S1-S17, a demodulator circuit 8, and a distance/speed measuring circuit 9. In a precise direction detection system, deflections DELTAx, DELTAy from the target position is detected by means of elements S17-S48, a delay circuit 10, an adding circuit 1 and a multiplication circuit 14 and others and the detected result is entered in the rotation moving system 7. With this, the body can be surely guided to the target position.
