Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten a collecting time, by a method wherein an observng apparatus is constituted such that, after a collecting ship receives wave transmitted from a wave transmitting receiving device mounted at an observing apparatus, a sound, which is sent back, is detected by means of a wave receiver, and the observing apparatus automatically floats up in the proximity of an observation ship. CONSTITUTION:After a sound, having a frequency f1, sent from a wave transmitting receiving device 2 positioned at a top of an observation ship 1, is received by means of a transponder 4 in the observation ship, it is converted into a frequency f2 to be sent back. The sound is received by a plural number of wave receivers 5 and the wave transmitting receiving is counted by means of a signal processor 6, and a relative position of a collecting ship 3 to the observing apparatus 1, a speed, an advancing direction, a future position, a floating angle, and a float-starting time are counted, and the observing apparatus automatically floats up with the approach of the collecting ship 3. Thus, a collecting time can be shortened.
