Abstract

PURPOSE:To set and control temperature of each zone by multiplying the deviation of slab temperature corresponding to the position of the slab on the hearth and the temperature raising pattern corresponding to a predetermined position on the hearth by a weight coefficient. CONSTITUTION:In a heating furnace 40, a slab is moved forward by a walking beam 12 pitch by pitch. A signal of completion of one pitch is sent to a tracking processing device 46 through a PI/O device 45 together with signals from a charging device 43 and an extracting device 44, a charging completion signal and an extraction completion signal. An optimum furnace temperature determining device 48 catches the slab condition exactly when it works at a period of a fixed time and can renew the optimum furnace temperature. A weight coefficient changing device 47 changes a weight coefficient table 49 according to signal from a slab charging map 50 and a hearth map 51. The tracking unit 46 actuates the weight coefficient correcting device 47 at every charging. By changing the weight coefficient table dynamically, the optimum furnace temperature determining device 48 is made possible to control the heating furnace satisfactorily even when the temperature of charged material is changed abruptly compared with the initial value of the previously charged material.
