Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease total fuel consumption by continuing heating and temp. elevating at relatively low rates even during extraction halt period in case there is an extraction halt, and so controlling the rate of temp. elevation that steady heating temp. is reached at the extraction resuming time. CONSTITUTION:If the halt of a continuous heating furnace is intended, the heating from the in-furnace charging time t0 up to the extraction resuming time t2 is accomplished at a relatively low rate C2 and this temp. elevation is continued even during the extraction halt period. On reaching of the extraction resuming time t2, the temp. elevation is returned to a steady heating pattern 1 and is carried out at a rate C1. In the prior art, from the charging time t0 up to the extraction halt time t1 was the steady rate C1, the temp. Ts was maintained during the extraction halt time and is returned to the original heating rate C1 at the extraction resuming time t2; therefore, the employment of the rate C2 results in less total fuel consumption. It is also possible to divide the heating pattern 2 for halt to the one before the halt and the one during the halt and making the temp. elevation rate of the heating pattern before the halt lower than that of the heating pattern during the halt.
