Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to design and manufacture strengths and structures of components of a pump easily without reducing the performance of the pump by a method wherein relatively small and simple oil seals are utilized as an axial sealing device.
CONSTITUTION: Two pieces of oil seals 10a, 10b are inserted into a penetrating part P1 of a bush 9, fitted with an impeller shaft 7, through a housing so as to be opposed and closed each other and to hold an interbarrier ring 11 between them, liquid is flowed inbetween them from a lower part thereof through a supplying tube 12 to fill the liquid between two pieces of the oil seals 10a, 10b and the liquid is flowed into a gas sucking tube 16 through a discharging tube 13 situated thereabove. Oil seals 18a, 18b are inserted similarly into a penetrating part P2 of a boss 14 of a rotary casing 3 through a housing cover 2. When this pump is utilized as a compressor or a vacuum pump, leakage of internal compressed gas to the outside of the pump due to supplying of the liquid or intrusion of open air into the housing will never be caused by the oil seals 10a, 10b, 18a, 18b.
