Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce leakage of fluid into casing as well as miniaturize an overflow facility by forming reduced pressure chambers on the upper and lower sides of bearing part whose upper and lower sides are provided with a sealing means and also by connecting both reduced pressure chambers to the suction side of impeller.
CONSTITUTION: A part of high-pressure fluid discharged from the impeller 2 is introduced into each of the pockets 142 of the bearing part 141 through the communication hole 52, the groove 51, and the orifice 143, and then prevents the whirling and vibration of the pump shaft 1 by virtue of its static pressure bearing action. Then the high-pressure fluid, after exerting its static pressure bearing action, is flowed into the reduced pressure chambers A and B and the pressure-reducing hole C through the aperture between the bearing part 141 and the pump shaft 1 from each or the pockets 142 and then sucked into the inlet of a pressure-balancing chamber through the communication hole 53 and goes to the suction side of the impeller 2 through the balance hole 2b. Thus, the amount of fluid leaked into the casing can be extremely reduced and therefore the overflow facility can be miniaturized.
