Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a very uniform quenching by storing cooling water at a lower portion of a cylindrical member and maintain a horizontal plane a regular interval below a heating coil in high frequency continuous quenching method of cylindrical member of internal peripheral surface. CONSTITUTION:While a heating coil 6 and a cylindrical member 5 are relatively moved, an internal peripheral surface 5a of the cylindrical member 5 is heated, and while following after the heating portion, cooling water is injected to the heating portion from the injection opening 10 to carry out the quenching to the internal peripheral surface 5a of the cylidrical member 5. In such high frequency quenching method, said cooling water 16 is stored to a lower portion of the cylindrical member 5, and space a between the water level (suction opening end of exhaust pipe 14 of cooling water 16) and a heating coil 6 is constantly maintained. After the quenching layer is injected and cooled, storing and cooling water 16 is immersed again and cooled again and since the immerse start speed of the quenching layer is relative to the moving speed of the heating coil, a very excellent quenching layer is obtained.
