Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the reducing operation stable, reduce the work time and the treating capacity by forcibly blasting into the furnace from a blast port located at a position lower than a tuyere during the end of the reducing blowing-out operation and burning completely the residual coke. CONSTITUTION:During the end of the reducing, blowing-out operation when the reducing level 3 of charge 2 in a blast furnace 1 descends to the height of a tuyere 4, air is forcibly blasted from a blast port 5 located below the height of the tuyere and natural air passes from the tuyere 4. Thus, the residual coke in the furnace 1 is completely burnt and the contents located below the height of the tuyere 4 is successively reduced. In accordance with this method, the treatment after the reducing completion are finished earlier since contents are little, and cooling by a natural draught and scraping out operation of contents are completed early and further operations such as the research in the furnace can be done at an early time.
