Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively use coal ash as resource by blowing coal ash powder together with powdery material for smelting from tuyere at the time of executing smelting reduction of ore containing metallic oxide in a shaft type reduction furnace provided with the tuyere for blowing powdery material. CONSTITUTION:In the blast furnace 1, iron ore and coke are charged from the furnace top part 2 and also blast furnace gas is discharged. Further, high temp. air and the powdery material are blown at the same time from the blasting tuyere 3 arranged at side wall part of lower part of the blast furnace and the produced pig iron and slag are discharged from tapping hole 4. Then, the coal is adjusted to a grain size and moisture suitable to blowing by a fine powdered coal producing equipment 5 and at the time of blowing it from the tuyere 3 by a fine powdered coal blowing equipment 6, the fine powdery coal ash is blown in the blast furnace 1 together with the fine powdered coal. By this method the coal ash is treated at low cost to make it the slag in the shaft type reduction furnace and it can be used for various purpose as smelting slag.
