Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove COD in exhaust water very simply and economically, by adding overflow water and so on from the domestic septic tank to exhaust water containing sulfur oxide and by exposing these water to air.
CONSTITUTION: Overflow water of the domestic septic tank, aeration tank water of the sewage treatment plant, and so on are added to exhaust water containing sulfur oxide such as S2O3 2- and S3O6 2- from the ore floatation plant, the sulfur dye manufacture plant, and so on, and oxygen is blown into them. Then, since bacterium living in overflow water of the domestic septic tank, aeration tank water of the sewage treatment plant, and so on oxidize sulfur oxide in exhaust water, COD in exhaust water is reduced. Thus, COD in exhaust water is removed continuously in exhaust water in a short time by the simple and economical method.
