Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the mixed slag after solidification from producing yellow water or collapsing by weathering by blowing oxygen to molten mixed slag at the time of mixing molten converter slag into molten blast furnace slag and producing road bed materials and road construction materials. CONSTITUTION:Molten converter slag of poor fluidity of <=17% T and Fe is added and mixed to molten blast furnace slag in such a manner that it becomes 30- 80wt%. Oxygen gas is blown into this mixed slag or is sprayed thereto to cause exothermic reaction with the Fe and S in the molten slag, whereby the fluidity of the molten mixed slag is improved and the mixed slag is uniformly mixed; at the same time, S is converted to SO2 and the molten mixed slag is gas stirred to assist the mixing and decrease the S content. Since the molten mixed slag is sufficiently mixed and is desulfurized, it does not produce any yellow color after the solidification and the collapsing by weathering owing to the unslagged CaO does not occur.
