Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a high specific gravity balance weight by mixing steel slug, iron ore, iron sand and water at predetermined proportion in a box and sealing them with heavy concrete.
CONSTITUTION: A box is filled with more than 25wt% of steel slug and less than 75wt% of either one or two of iron ore, iron sand, manganese ore, or scrap as aggregates; and 2W20% of water as a filling medium, and then sealed at its top with a mortar, steel plate, or heavy concrete. Filling aggregate with water as filling medium increases the filling ratio thereby increasing the specific gravity by about 5W15%, and desired weight can be obtained through the selection of the aggregates.
