Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a heat-sealing resin composition for aluminum foil, having excellent peeling strength at a temperature of as high as 120°C, by mixing a resin obtained by copolymerizing vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate and maleic acid, with polymethyl methacrylate in an organic solvent.
CONSTITUTION: 100 Parts by weight of a copolymer composed of 100 parts by weight of vinyl chloride, 5W20 parts of vinyl acetate and 0.3W3 parts of maleic acid, is mixed with 5W30 parts by weight of polymethyl methacrylate having an average molecular weight of 200,000W500,000, in an organic solvent. Addition of a bisphenol-A-type epoxy resin to the composition further improves the effect. A polymethyl methacrylate having an average molecular weight of ≤200,000 is not effective unless uneconomically high amount is added, and the one having a molecular weight of ≥500,000 gives too high viscosity in a solvent to be conveniently handled.
