Generally speaking, steel making slag contains 40W50% CaO, 2W3% free CaO in CaO and extremely little S. Thus, the oxidation of the iron plate can be prevented because mixture shows the alkalinity of pH 9-10 when slag is kneaded with cement and water as aggregate.
