Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the charge distribution of photosensitive drum surface even by forming the end edge of a conductor plate opposing to a photosensitive drum in arc form which approaches to the photosensitive drum surface at the center and leaves from this at both ends.
CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive drum 1 is rotated in the direction of an arrow and the photosensitive drum 1 is charged by the corona discharge generated by a discharge member 2. The central part of the photosensitive drum 1 is better in charge efficiency and becomes higher in electric potential than its both ends. Thereupon, a conductor plate 4 is disposed in the position where the photosensitive drum surface passes after the charging by the cornoa discharge, nearly perpendicularly to said surface so as to cause reverse discharging of the charge on the photosensitive drum surface and the end edge 5 of the conductor plate opposing to said surface is formed in arc form which is close to the photosensitive drum surface at the center and leaves from said surface at both ends so that an even charge distribution may be obtained on the photosensitive drum surface. As a result of this, the charge on the photosensitive drum is reversely discharged to the conductor plate side along with the rotation of the photosensitive drum toward the arrow direction, whereby the evening of electric potential is obtained and beautiful copying is accomplished.
