Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a paint film of excellent adhesion on the inner surface of a can by coating and photothermically polymerizing a photopolymerizable composition containing a compound with terminal ethylenic unsaturated double bonds and an organic condensation resin with photosensitive initiation groups on a base material.
CONSTITUTION: A base material is coated with a photopolymerizable composition containing an ethylenic unsaturated compound containing one or more terminal ethylenic unsaturated bouble bonds, which is in nongaseous state usually, and an organic condensation resin with photosensitive initiation groups, e.g., resol-type phenol resin obtained in the presence of alkali cotalyst, and then the coat thus obtained is exposed to irradiation of light rays of an approx. 200W500nm wave length and heated. Thus, a strong hard paint film which is free of delamination and blistering as encounded when subjected to usual retort treatment and boiling treatment can be obtained.
