Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently produce a steel sheet coated with a colored film, by applying an ultraviolet-curing color-coating material to the surface of a substrate steel sheet, curing the applied coating material with ultraviolet radiation, further applying ultraviolet-curing transparent paint to the cured coating material layer, and then irradiating ultraviolet rays to the applied paint.
CONSTITUTION: A color-coating material is prepared by blending 40W98wt% of one or more ultraviolet-curing resins and 2W60wt% of one or more inorganic or organic pigments. Said ultraviolet-curing color-coating material is applied to the surface of a substrate steel sheet such as a steel sheet or a hot-dip zincing steel sheet by roll-coat or the like, and then exposed to ultraviolet radiation by use of a mercury lamp or the like which can discharge ultraviolet rays having wave length in the range of about 200W400nm, to cure the applied coating material. Thereafter, ultraviolet-curing transparent paint is applied in thickness of 1W10μ to the cured coating material layer and cured by ultraviolet radiation. In this way, the steel sheet coated with a colored film is obtained.
