Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve bond strength of a metallic film and to obtain a metal coated plastic having improved shrink-resistance, electrical characterisitics, moisture resistance, and heat resistance, by forming a resin layer consisting of a specific thermosetting composition on the surface of a synthetic resin base.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a synthetic resin base is coated with a thermosetting resin composition consisting of A) 90W40 wt.% of a first epoxy resin having one or more reactive epoxy groups on the average per molecule, B) a reaction product of a) a second epoxy resin having one or more reactive epoxy groups on the average per molecule with b) an acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer having carboxyl groups obtained from 18W46 wt.% of acrylonitrile, 54W82 wt.% of butadiene, not more than 15 wt.% of a carboxyl group containing monomer, and C) a room-temperature stable curing agent with reactivity at high temperature to a thickness of 5W 500μ. The base is then dried at 80W180°C for 3W20 minutes, heated at 140W200°C for 10 minutesW24 hours, and covered with a metallic film.
