Abstract

PURPOSE: The title composition in which a cation-polymerizable, energy ray-curable resin composition is blended with an organosilicone resin and which is cured in a short time by irradiation with energy rays, which is applicable to plastics and forms a film having high surface hardness.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. cation-polymerizable, energy ray-curable resin composition (A) comprising a cation-polymerizable resin (i) (e.g., epoxy resin) and a compound (ii) liberating a polymerization-initiating catalyst by irradiation with energy rays (e.g. p-chlorobenzenediazonium hexabluorophosphate) is blended with 0.5W50pst.wt. organosilicone resin (B) (e.g. siloxane-polyoxy alkylene copolymer) to provided the non-fogging composition. A substrate is either coated with the above-mentioned non-fogging composition after it is heat-treated or while it is being heated or is heat-treated after it is coated with the composition, and then the substrate is irradiated with energy rays to form a non-fogging film.
EFFECT: A film having good wear resistance, solvent resistance and chemical resistance is obtained.
USE: Window glass, lenses and mirrors.
