Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a noise index by differentially controlling currents flowing to the 1st and 2nd diodes by a gain control signal. CONSTITUTION:Bias voltages of diodes 10 and 11 are controlled by the gain control signal of a DC voltage from gain control signal supply terminal 9 to control the impedance of diodes 10 and 11 and the level of a signal from input terminal 5 is controlled by those diodes 10 and 11 to lead out a controlled signal from output terminal 8. Consequently, as the voltage of terminal 9 is increased, the electric current flowing to transistor 3 increases and the impedance of diode 11 decreases. The electric current flowing to the diode decreases by the increment of the current flowing to diode 11 and its impedance increases, so that the gain to a signal to be transmitted will decrease greatly. Since diodes 10 and 11 used, there is no thermal noise due to base expansion resistance rbb' of the transistor, so that the noise index can be improved.
