Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an automatic interception of inflammable fluid such as fuel at the time of a fire in a cut-off valve by using a fusible metal.
CONSTITUTION: Normally, a valve body 5 tends to move for closing to cut-off an inflammable fluid flow 8, but, since a lever 6 linked with the valve body 5 via a shaft 4 is supported on a valve main body 1 via a fusible metal 7, the valve body is kept opened. However, when a fire starts near a cut-off valve, the fusible metal 7 is fused by the heat, and thereby, the lever 6 is released. Then, the valve body 5 is turned for closing together with the shaft 4, and fitted to a valve seat 9 in the valve main body to cutoff the inflammable fluid flow 8 automatically. Besides, the fusible metal 7, a fire-detecting part, is threatened with deformation or cutting when it is given a great force for a long duration. Therefore, to offset the force, a counter weight 10 is desirably mounted on the lever 6.
