Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the plug-knob of the gas applicance the one which is simple in mechanism, rarely troubled, inexpensive and provided with a timer, by enabling setting of the timer for automatic ignition and extinction of a gas range or the like by one plug-knob.
CONSTITUTION: When the plug-knob 2 at stop position is turned in the direction of open at an angle of about 90°, a rotary shaft 14 is rotated, cams 5 and 6 press thereby a gas-regulating pin valves 23 and 24 and open the valves. The gas which is supplied up to a gas conduit 27 is made to flow into a burner conduit 26 and a pilot conduit 25, while, simultaneously, a disc 19 rotates to make a pawl hang on the projection 21 of a piezoelectric element unit 1, moving a hammer 34 and thereby compressing a compression oil spring 35. After that, the pawl 12 is removed and the hammer 34 strikes at a piezoelectric element 32, thereby generating a high-voltage current. The current thus generated is let to a pilot burner through a conductor 20 and makes ignition. When the plug-knob 2 of the appliance is further turned, a timer is set under the condition that combustion continues in the burner, and, when the timer is turned off, the plug-knob returns to the stop position by the force of a spring 13 and the supply of gas to the burner is stopped.
