Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish production with a simple construction and a small size while reducing the cost by means of a rotary plate for opening or closing the gas passage to respective burner sections provided in the gas chamber of the operation device body and connected solidly to the operation shaft.
CONSTITUTION: When an electromagnetic safety valve 2 is opened through a pressure shaft 13 with a operation shaft 11 pushed downward against springs 32 and 33, gas from a gas inflow port 01 flows into the gas chamber 4. Successively in response to the left turning of the operation shaft 11, a rotary plate rotates and the passage 02 is opened through a port on the rotary plate 5 within the rotary range of 90° to allow gas to be fed to the pilot burner, and ignited with the action of an igniter 12. Upon firing of the pilot burner, thermoelectric motive power is generated and the electromagnetic safety valve 2 is retained attracted. At the point, with the release of the pressure from the operation shaft 11, the shaft 11 is returned to the original position with springs 32 and 33 and then, upon the left turning of the shaft 11 by 90°, the passage 03 is opened through a port 53 to allow gas to the main burner.
