Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate the control of wind mill revolution by conducting continuous direction control of flow deviation through opening/closing of openings provided in control chambers.
CONSTITUTION: Suppose that a closing plate 29 closes an opening 21, while another opening 20 is not closed. Under this situation, a flow from a nozzle 9 sucks fluid in control chambers 11 and 10. As the opening 21 is closed, the pressure of the control chamber 11 decreases by the sucking, while the pressure of the control chamber 10 remains almost unchanged because the opening 20 is not closed. Thus the flow originated from the nozzle 9 produces a sideway pressure difference in which the pressure in the rightside control chamber 10 is relatively higher than the leftside control chamber 11, and the flow is deviated to left by the pressure difference. The flow sticks to a guide wall 17 by Coanda effect, and is flown out. At that time, the wind mill 3 is in a state that one of its blades 25 is exposed to the flow, to produce anticlockwise revolution. The opposite of clockwise revolution is obtained by the operation of opposite way. The operation can be suspended when openings 20 and 21 are opened by departing closing plates 28 and 29 from them.
