Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent delayed cracking from occuring at the producing of a high tensile steel, by slow cooling a slab then warm-cutting the same to prevent cracking, directly hardening the hot-rolled steel plate right after rolling and again heating and slow cooling the same and further annealing this.
CONSTITUTION: After a slab made by blooming a steel ingot is once cooled down to around 200°C, it is reheated to 300W600°C and is slow cooled at ≤0.001°C/sec. cooling rate. At the point of ≥200°C in the temperature of this slow cooling process, the slab is warm cut by gas cutting or the like to be parted to plural slabs of predetermined length, whereby the cracking at ≤200°C temperatures is prevented. In succession, it is immediately heated to 1,150W1,250°C of hot rolling temperatures, and is hot-rolled to a steel plate which is then directly hardened by water cooling from ≥A1 transformation point. The hardening end temperature is kept at 150W 200°C. In succession, it is heated to 300W400°C in a heating furnace and is cooled in the furnace. At ≤200°C, it is let to cool, and finally, it is heated to 450W650°C and is tempered.
