Abstract

PURPOSE: To balance a force to work on a common rotary shaft and also to simplify construction by providing a double-suction impeller at a center of the common rotary shaft and a single-suction impeller at both ends.
CONSTITUTION: A single-suction pumping unit 2 provided with a single-suction impeller 4 is arranged on both ends of a common rotary shaft 1, and a double- suction pumping unit 3 provided with a double-suction impeller 11 is arranged at the center. When the rotary shaft 1 is rotated, the impellers 4, 11 run, and a gas coming through a suction port 16 is sucked in the single-suction pumping unit 2 through a suction port 7, which is boosted therein and discharged from a discharge port 8. Then, the gas is sucked in the double-suction pumping unit 3 through a suction port 13, boosted and discharged from a discharge port 14 and an outlet 17. According to this constitution, an axial large force will not work on the common rotary shaft.
