Abstract

PURPOSE: To mass-produce an absorbing plate described in the title having stable selective absorption characteristics, by immersing a stainless steel plate as a cathode and a platinum plate an anode in a mixed sulfuric acid-chromic acid soln. to form oxide film on the surface of the steel plate until prescribed potential difference is shown between both electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: A ferrite stainless steel plate 3 and a platinum plate 4 are immersed in a sulfuric acid-chromic anhydride mixed soln. 2 contained in a storage tank 1, and a high impedance electrometer 5 is connected between the steel plate 3 as a cathode and the platinum plate 4 as an anode. Then oxide film is formed on the surface of the stainless steel plate unitl the potential difference on the basis of coloring-initiating potential which is the minimum potential on a potential curve between the immersion time and potential attains 6W10mV. This process is more preferable than conventional process for mass production, and allows to manufacture absorbing plate having stable selective absorption characteristics and very good characteristics for the solar heat.
