Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve ridging resistance of a cold-rolled steel plate by hot-rolling the cast slab of ferrite stainless steel under the specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:The cast slab of ferrite stainless steel is subjected to hot-rolling of >=50% in an early period down to 1,150 deg.C, and is subjected to hot-rolling of >=5% at the end period of <=950 deg.C. Hence, the screw-down and cooling during this time are so controlled that the remaining portions of the total draft are completed between 1,150 deg.C and 950 deg.C. If the thus obtained hot-rolled steel strip is cold-rolled to a cold-rolled strip by an ordinary twice cold-rolling method, the cold-rolled steel plate of good ridging resistance and good appearance is obtained.
