Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a composite tool having superior adhesive strength by joining a diamond-contg. hard sintered body to a super hard alloy material with a solid solution or mixture of the specific component composition.
CONSTITUTION: Cubic boron nitride and residual composite consisting of carbide, nitride, or carbonitride of elements of group 4a or 5a of the periodic toble, solid solution or mixture of two or more kinds of them or those contg. Al and/or Si at ≥0.1wt% are used as a joining agent. This joining agent is placed in the form of powder or press-molded product or is beforehand coated on a sintered hard alloy base material, on which the hard sintered molding powder contg. diamond at ≥20% in volume is placed by press-molding or in the form of powder, and the entire part thereof is hot pressed under super high pressure and high temperature, to sinter the hard layer contg. diamond and the intermediate layer powder and at the same time, to allow these to join to the base sintered hard alloy. This yields the composite sintered body for tools of superior adhesive strength.
