Abstract
PURPOSE: To apply a thin metal film to the desired part of an objective body of transfer without need for the process of removing the thin metal film, by providing a metal film stripping layer for stripping the thin metal film layer from an adhesive layer, in the thermal transfer sheet provided therein with the thin metal film.
CONSTITUTION: A releasing layer 2 consisting of a transparent or translucent resin is provided on a substrate sheet 1, then a picture layer 3 is printed on the releasing layer 2 by using dyes and pigments having the feeling of transparency, and a transparent resin layer 4 is provided thereon. Thereafter, the thin metal film layer 5 is formed on the transparent resin layer 4 by vacuum deposition or the like. Then the thin metal film stripping layer 6 is provided at the required parts so as to ensure that the thin metal film layer 5 is stripped from the adhesive layer 7 and the thin metal film 5 is easily transferred to the objective body 10. Further, an adhesive layer 7, a transparent resin layer 8 and a coloring layer 9 are provided. At the time of the thermal transfer of the thus prepared thermal transfer sheet, the parts of the sheet where the thin metal film stripping layer 6 is absent undergo stripping between the substrate sheet 1 and the releasing layer 2, while the parts where the stripping layer 6 is present undergo stripping at the bottom of the stripping layer 6.
